These homemade honey roasted peanuts are so yummy and a cinch to whip up. They’re earthy, have the perfect honey crunch, and taste better than most off the shelf varieties.
Most peanut brands are loaded with weird ingredients or strange additives which is why I decided to just make my own batch at home. These babies are simple, delicious, crunchy, earthy, and so much healthier.
This recipe is so easy to make at home that you’re not going to want to buy these at the store anymore, I promise!
I like my peanuts heavily coated because I have a sweet tooth! The peanuts are encased in a thick crunchy honey shell that gives each bite a deep lovely nutty flavor.
You can chop these up and add them to oatmeal, yogurt, or chia seed pudding as a delicious topping too. Or hello ice cream sundaes or banana splits? Can you tell I have a sweet tooth! I do. Tis true.
Homemade Honey Roasted Peanuts
These homemade honey roasted peanuts are so easy to make. They have the perfect crunch and a rich earthy honey roasted flavor.
- 1 cup peanuts
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch sea salt
Microwave honey, butter, vanilla extract, and sea salt in a bowl for 15-30 seconds or until the butter is melted. Mix in peanuts and coat them thoroughly. With a spatula spread peanuts onto a baking sheet into an even layer. Roast at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes and give them a stir at the halfway point to ensure they are getting evenly roasted. Let cool for 5 minutes and then enjoy.
- Feel free to get creative and add in cayenne, chipotle chili powder, cinnamon, or any other spices that you think might pair nicely.
- If you prefer a lighter coating—add 1 tbsp of honey instead of 2.
- Want these to be coated in sugar? Once they’ve cooled down toss them in 1 tbsp of brown sugar, granulated sugar, or coconut sugar.
